Neighborhood Clean-Ups

2025

It's that time of year to plan our Quail Hollow Firewise neighborhood clean-up.  We will meet at 9:00 am at the corner of Quail Hollow and Marion Ave on Saturday, June 28th and work our way down Marion Ave cleaning up all overgrown weeds, low hanging branches and any dead trees and bushes along the way.  We will also be taking a few volunteers to an elderly neighbors home to help them clean up their yard.  Please bring weed trimmers, loppers, rakes, gloves, water and a positive attitude to help keep our neighborhood safe.   Please email odellop@gmail.com if you are able to come and help.

I would also like to offer the services of a small group of volunteers to help our elderly neighbors and our neighbors in need with clearing their yards if they need assistance.  Please contact Patricia Odello at odellop@gmail.com if you would like to schedule a time for us to come and help.

2024

I'm sure I'm not alone in being nervous every time I hear a fire engine flying down the road or when I smell smoke in the air.  With so many wildfires currently burning in California, we need to encourage all our neighbors to make an effort to minimize our own wildfire risk in our neighborhood.  To help each other reach these goals, we have scheduled our first clean-up day on Saturday, August 17th and are looking for volunteers to help clear the sides of our roads.

We will meet on the corner of Marion Ave and Quail Hollow at 8:00 am to beat the heat (you are welcome to join any time!)   Alex Groswird will have his pick-up and a trailer to load the weeds and dead branches and we will work our way down Marion until the truck and trailer are full.  We could use volunteers with weed whackers, rakes and loppers.

We look forward to seeing you!!!  Please reply to this email (don't "reply all" 😊) to let us know if you can help out.
